Robert Downey Jr and Susan Levin wed in Amagansett |
If you have never heard of Amagansett, New York, you are not alone. In fact this place is so small, that you can hardly find any information on it. For this very reason, Robert Downey Jr wedded his lovely bride Susan Levin. They were merely following in the footsteps of Marilyn Monroe, who has been photographed on the beach there. Since the place can only be described as a hamlet (with just about a thousand people and about six square miles of area), it is not much of a tourist town but if you like to explore exotic places where the rich and the adventurous hang out, it is definitely worth a trip.
It is no surprise that the Hamptons are the playground of the rich and famous, particularly those who live in the New York City Metropolis. With nature at its best just miles away from one of the world's largest cities, if you are traveling to New York, you might want to consider a trip as an adventure during the day.
Apart from those cute, little, family owned dining places, you must be able to visit the Amagansett National Wildlife Refuge right off the Atlantic Ocean. Its unique double dune system embodies marine sand beach, primary dunes, secondary dunes, swales, fens, cranberry bogs, and oak scrub. Many rare plants, including several orchids, occur on the refuge. Oldsquaw, white winged scoter, common loon and horned grebe spend winter off the refuge shore, while shorebirds, songbirds and raptors are a treat to visiting wildlife watchers during spring and fall, according to the US Fish & Wildlife Service.Related wedding destination: Castello di Velona in Italy (Rachael Ray) |
