When you do go there, make sure that you leave your laptop, Blackberry, and cell phone in the car.  It is OK to check up on kids (if they are left behind at home); otherwise there is no need to check your voicemail or email at work.  Nobody is indispensable and if you are going to take a few days off, the company is not going out of business because of that.
