So when I talked about the Hearst Tower, I was talking about my fascinating with high-rise buildings (no, I am not afraid of heights and at one time I used to work in the Hancock Tower on the 33rd floor with spectacular views of Boston). I thought I will share some of my favorite photos of skyscrapers in New York City. This is the Time Warner Center, a beautiful building with a mall on the lower floors (in other words, the public is welcome).
In the skyscraper below, the public is welcome in the sense that it is the Trump Hotel and Tower, but if you are intimidated by the idea of going inside a luxury hotel if you are not staying there (my technique to check out hotels that are too expensive for me to afford is to go for a cup of coffee during daytime (I did that at the Omm Hotel in Barcelona) or to the bar at night), you can still admire it from the street. It is right in the Columbus Square area.
