Best Italian restaurants in New York |
|
If you don't do your homework before visiting New York city, you could end up paying a lot of money for lousy food. NYC has some of the best restaurants in the world (I ate recently at Leela Lounge) but it also has some of the worst food in the world. I mean what can you expect from Mexican immigrants cooking Japanese food without ever visiting Japan or Chinese immigrants cooking Thai food? That is why it is best to stick to a few fine places and not take chances. There are just too many tourist traps. If you don't know where to eat, take my advice and try the Little Italy neighborhood. The prices are really good at lunch time and be careful while ordering. I like Ristorante Italiano Da Gennaro.
I also like Sal Anthony's restaurant where they specialize in gnocchi, if that is your favorite Italian dish.

The other place to get awesome food is Il Fornaio and right next to it, the Sorrento.
