Where would Bill Gates - the richest man in the world - go on his honeymoon? Well, certainly money was not an issue for him and his lovely wife Melinda. The couple decided to go to Africa. So when Salma Hayek and Collin Farrell were filming in South Africa, they were not the first celebrity to go there. Recently, Rachael Ray (the famous chef on Food Network) returned from a trip to Africa.Bill and Melinda Gates had their wedding in Hawaii and it has been reported that they went for their honeymoon to Africa. Like many other tourists to Africa, Bill and Melinda Gates went on a safari trip to see all the exotic animals in their natural habitat.
 Now the fact that the richest man went on a safari vacation does not mean you should feel intimidated. In Africa, you can find a lot of safari vacations in all price ranges. Some of the safari resorts are located in remote places where all sorts of exotic animals live in the wild and the visitors can see them in their natural habitat. The tents are very luxurious and have all comforts, such as air-conditioning, and in some cases, come with a butler. So staying in tents keeps the cost low, but if you choose extra comforts, the cost will be higher.
If you are on a relatively tighter budget, then your option is to stay in a large city, and take a day/overnight trip to see the animals.
As you can guess, a vacation in Africa is a real adventure and that is the reason so many celebrities choose to sneak out. Some people fear that hygiene or safety may be the problems there, but that is not the case if you stay in good tourist resorts. Most people will need to get some vaccines before traveling to Africa (just talk to your family doctor), but other than that you may only need to take basic precautions like watching out what type of water you drink and if you eat the food sold on the streets.
