While Paris Hilton said that she did not deserve to be in prison and it was not right, being in jail can sometimes be an opportunity to turn your life around. That is what happened to Filippo La Matia, who learned Sicilian cooking while in a jail in Sicily for a crime that he did not commit (reminds me of the movie Heaven, in which Philippa Paccard, an English teacher in Italy who was also almost convicted). While in prison, he discovered the value of food and the pleasure of cooking and now he owns the world-famous Ristorante Trattoria (Via del pozzo delle cornacchi) in Roma (Rome). His story is so engaging that it has even been turned into a movie "All the women in my life," since he attributes everything in his life to a woman around him.
