A vacation does not have to be about visiting historical monuments or hanging out at the beach or ecotourism or yoga or destination spa.  It can also be attending a music festival.  One such festival I recommend is the Minnesota Music Festival (10,000 Lakes Festival) held at the Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes country of Minnesota's North Woods  -  the serene natural environment with reclaimed wetlands and lakeshore surrounding the camping and venue grounds provides the ultimate festival experience.

Bands

A yearly tradition for music lovers nationwide, the festival lineup includes Bob Weir & RatDog, Trey Anastasio, Umphrey's McGee, moe., Gov't Mule, Little Feat, The Derek Trucks Band, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Everyone Orchestra, Trampled By Turtles, WookieFoot, and Moses Mayes.

Performers at the previous 10,000 Lakes Festivals have included Phil Lesh & Friends, The String Cheese Incident, The Black Crowes, G. Love & Special Sauce, Les Claypool, 311, Galactic, The Roots, John Mayer, Donavon Frankenreiter, O.A.R., Medeski Martin & Wood, Keller Williams (shown here on the left), Los Lobos, Yonder Mountain String Band, The Samples, DJ Logic, Particle, Dark Star Orchestra, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Rusted Root, Maroon 5, The Big Wu, The Radiators, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Soulive, North Mississippi Allstars, Tea Leaf Green, Railroad Earth, and Shooter Jennings.
