Enjoy pink sandy beaches in Bermuda
Photo of a romantic couple with their snorkeling gear on a Bermuda beachBermuda is a favorite vacation destination of stars like Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones, Seal and Heidi Klum, Patti LaBelle, and Joss Stone.  And if you are old enough to remember when The Deep created a big stir on box office, the movie was actually filmed in Bermuda.

More importantly, though, Bermuda is known for its beaches and people.  In fact Bermudans often joke that they are so romantic that "even our beach is blushing."  That's right!  Bermuda has pink beaches.

How to have a great time in Bermuda like the stars?

Everyone eventually finds their way to the historic Town of St. George (designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO) in the East End of the island where the townspeople live among four centuries of history. In the West End, the refurbished Royal Naval Dockyard, the Bermuda Maritime Museum and the restored Commissioner’s House exhibit the grandeur of Bermuda’s naval heritage and maritime history.

Wherever you stay, the ocean is never more than a mile away.  Plus, it has many options for wreck diving (many ships have been sunk over time and provide excellent opportunity to witness unique flora and fauna).  More than 80 restaurants and 40 cafes and coffee shops cater to every budget and taste, from posh to inexpensive. Come nightfall, put on your dancing shoes and explore Bermuda’s nightlife.

Bermuda’s gracious accommodations range from world-class resort hotels and cottage colonies (most with state-of-the-art spas or spa services and exercise facilities) to intimate bed and breakfast inns, cottages, suites and apartments.

Vacation like celebrities without the expense
One of the things that stars prize is privacy and many of them are willing to do whatever they can to get it.  Think Brangelina at the Burning Shore Resort - they rented the whole place. In other words, privacy and luxury come at a steep price.  Some of you write that you would like to enjoy the same level of privacy and peace but do not have the money to pay like the stars.  Well, we took a trip to find out and here is one destination where you can get most of what you want without the huge price tag.

We have already highlighted Honduras, a country in Central America where Mel Gibson filmed Apocalpyto and Richard Gere vacations frequently.  John John Kennedy even went on his honeymoon there.  But we are not talking about Copan or Roatan in Honduras - two destinations that attract the most celebrities.  We are talking about the tiny island of Utila.

Track the stars in St. Lucia

couple, honeymoon, wedding, beach, tropical paradise, bridal dress

The number of places that you can go to in the Atlantic Ocean is incredible and the stars know how to find them.  While you might be tempted to get on that cheap flight to Jamaica or Cancun (not that there is anything wrong with these places), the celebrities are looking for an experience (apart from privacy) when they vacation.

And one destination in the Caribbean that provides both pleasure and privacy is the island of St. Lucia.  No surprise then that the island has been voted as the world's best wedding and honeymoon destination for three consecutive years.

Which stars have been to St. Lucia?

Or should we answer it by saying who hasn't.  But among the celebrities that have been spotted there are Harrison Ford, Tyra Banks, Jimmy Page, Oprah, Martha Stewart, Nick Cage, Raquel Welch, and Morgan Freeman.

Brangelina baby in Namibia

outdoor dining, restaurant, ocean view, burning shore, namibia, brangelina

The country of Namibia is so thinly populated and remote that not many people knew that it even existed till Brangelina arrived there.  Well, when you are Angelina Jolie, things are different.  She fell in love with Namibia when she filmed the movie "Beyond Borders."  And Brad Pitt just follws her like a pet dog.

After the rather long stay in France, they are now camping in Namibia and rented the whole Burning Shore luxury resort (7 Luxury Rooms and 5 Luxury Suites).  Their baby, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, was also born there on May 27, 2006.  In other words, if you wanted to rent a room and take their pictures there, forget it - the privacy was absolute.  But if you want to enjoy a truly tranquil vacation, you can stay at the resort, which by American standards is not that expensive.  It is located on the edge of the largest sand dunes in the world, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in between Swakopmund and Walvis Airport.
