D. T. Fleming Beach Park takes the number one spot in the 16th annual Top 10 Beaches (in the United States) rankings produced by Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman, Director of Florida International University’s Laboratory for Coastal Research.
The western shore of Maui is known for its idyllic, year-round beach weather, and Fleming’s mile-long crescent, white sand beach offers a range of activities and stunning views of nearby Molokai Island . A favorite area for sunbathers, swimmers, and surfers alike, the beach is backed by a virtual forest of trees on the low sea cliff, providing welcome shade. Amenities include showers, restrooms, grills, bar/snackbar and picnic facilities overlooking the beach plus tablecloth dining on the south end of the park, which is the unofficial beach of the nearby Ritz Carlton.
Other nine beaches on the list produced by Dr. Beach are:- Caladesi Island State Park, Dunedin, Florida
- Ocracoke Island, Outer Banks, North Carolina
- Coopers Beach, Southampton, New York
- Hanalei Beach, Kauai, Hawaii
- Main Beach, East Hampton, New York
- Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
- Coronado Beach, San Diego, California
- Hamoa Beach, Maui, Hawaii
- Barefoot Beach Park, Bonita Springs, Florida

One of the things that stars prize is privacy and many of them are willing to do whatever they can to get it. Think Brangelina at the Burning Shore Resort - they rented the whole place. In other words, privacy and luxury come at a steep price. Some of you write that you would like to enjoy the same level of privacy and peace but do not have the money to pay like the stars. Well, we took a trip to find out and here is one destination where you can get most of what you want without the huge price tag.
We have already highlighted Honduras, a country in Central America where Mel Gibson filmed Apocalpyto and Richard Gere vacations frequently. John John Kennedy even went on his honeymoon there. But we are not talking about Copan or Roatan in Honduras - two destinations that attract the most celebrities. We are talking about the tiny island of Utila. |

The number of places that you can go to in the Atlantic Ocean is incredible and the stars know how to find them. While you might be tempted to get on that cheap flight to Jamaica or Cancun (not that there is anything wrong with these places), the celebrities are looking for an experience (apart from privacy) when they vacation. And one destination in the Caribbean that provides both pleasure and privacy is the island of St. Lucia. No surprise then that the island has been voted as the world's best wedding and honeymoon destination for three consecutive years.
Which stars have been to St. Lucia?Or should we answer it by saying who hasn't. But among the celebrities that have been spotted there are Harrison Ford, Tyra Banks, Jimmy Page, Oprah, Martha Stewart, Nick Cage, Raquel Welch, and Morgan Freeman. |

The country of Namibia is so thinly populated and remote that not many people knew that it even existed till Brangelina arrived there. Well, when you are Angelina Jolie, things are different. She fell in love with Namibia when she filmed the movie "Beyond Borders." And Brad Pitt just follws her like a pet dog.
After the rather long stay in France, they are now camping in Namibia and rented the whole Burning Shore luxury resort (7 Luxury Rooms and 5 Luxury Suites). Their baby, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, was also born there on May 27, 2006. In other words, if you wanted to rent a room and take their pictures there, forget it - the privacy was absolute. But if you want to enjoy a truly tranquil vacation, you can stay at the resort, which by American standards is not that expensive. It is located on the edge of the largest sand dunes in the world, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in between Swakopmund and Walvis Airport. |

If you want to follow the lifestyle of the stars (mind you, we all can follow it to some extent), apart from tracking where they go on vacation you also have to look at where they live. For instance, the largest concentration of celebrities is in Hollywood and Malibu, but as we reported in another place, Brangelina is considering the Dominican Republic. So this time let us take a look at that American Sweetheart Julia Roberts. Indeed she seems equally comfortable in New York or Los Angeles, but she has a hideout in Taos, New Mexico. And believe it or not, her wedding also took place at that ranch, estimated to be as much as 40 acres in area and costing millions in a part called Arroyo Seco. Taos is tranquil town, relatively small, and full of tourists year around, but is a great place to live too. It has been preserved to keep the traditional New Mexican architecture with plazas, churches and historical buildings around it. Plus, while it is nice and warm during summer, you can also ski during winter months.
The beautiful New Mexico landscape is visible everywhere and it still has cowboys and cowgirls. It is a very peaceful place with many ranches in the area. Taos and the areas around have opportunities for great hikes and sports during summer. Although food and nightlife maybe more somewhat more abundant in Santa Fe, Taos is still well worth a vacation.Related destinations: Tips on how to spot the stars - Milano - Roatan - Mayan ruins in Honduras - Copan ruinas - Venice - St. Lucia
